“The creation of the new alumni-led Iqra Islamic School Alumni Association (IISAA), dedicated to reconnecting the expanding network of alumni and giving back to the Iqra community.”
Yassen Atallah
The Iqra Islamic School Alumni Association (IISAA) all started with an idea to bring together the collective capacity of past Iqra Islamic School students, and leverage it to benefit the school, its students and its community. This idea was shared among a number of motivated alumni, who came together in October of 2021 to establish the association. They brought this worthwhile vision to Iqra’s administration and Board of Directors, and successfully secured their support to see the initiative through.
Without delay, the IISAA founders began developing their work plan, an online presence, and a constitution that would ensure the association’s sustained continuity. Soon after, alumni were invited to become members of the association, of which some also joined the Task Force that became responsible for getting the association up and running. Eventually, the members came together to vote in their first IISAA elections. All that remained was to host a special event to mark the formal establishment of the association. Exactly one year since its inception, the IISAA Task Force came together to plan and host its first General Meeting and Reunion event, which took place on October 1st, 2022, a promising sign of great things to come!

Constitutions are the core document of an entiry and rarely change over time. These are the documents that established our organization and are necessary in legally creating an organization. The IISAA members and executive team have prepared and agreed on the following consitution, enacted at the first general meeting on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Iqra Islamic School. There was unanimous decision through a voting process to agree on the constitution as it is.
